Columbia University University Seminar on Early American History and Culture The Seminar on Early American History and Culture was established in 1966 as a part of the Columbia University "University Seminar" movement, which began in 1945. There are now 75 University Seminars hosted by Columbia, on topics ranging from Modern China to Ancient Medicine. The April 15th and May 13th meetings will be held at 5:30 in the first floor lounge of the Heyman Center for the Humanities, which is located near the Faculty House on the upper level of East Campus.
