From the Middle School Issue (Dec 2000):
Fed - Counter Fed Like vs. Like-like Suzy Lipschitz Oh. My. God. I think I might die. I think my insides might explode and my liver will stick to the wall. And everyone I know will laugh at my insides sliding down the primary colored hallway. Actually I hope I do die. I hope I fall off the face of the earth before earth science tomorrow. What am I going to do? I can't go to class tomorrow. I can't sit behind Tommy Paup and watch him make googley eyes at Vinny Rutolo because he thinks I like-like him. I think I might puke. I'll sit in my chair, and watch Vinny sit down in his chair two seats up and to the left, and look at me like some kind of freak, and I will puke. This is so unfair. I don't even like-like him. We were playing spin the bottle at Sarah's house on Friday and she asked me if I had to choose between making out with the clown from IT or one of the boys from class, who would I choose? Of course I said someone from school. Clowns give me the creeps. Vinny got up to get some Jolt, and he was the only one out of the room, so I said I'd makeout with him. Now he totally thinks I like-like him. I don't even know if I like him. I mean, he's nice and all, but he's got a mullet so bad. I am mortified. I don't think I can ever go back to school again. She used to have glasses and we would complain about being far-sighted together. Stop looking at me all google-eyed. She said she'd makeout with me. In sex-ed, they said things like t his would start happening this year. This is so cool! I was shopping at the Pac-Sunwear shop in the mall on Saturday, and I saw her, and as soon as she saw me, she totally ducked behind her mom. Yeah, she definitely like-likes me. It's not like she just likes me, like we're going doubles to the roller rink, I think she likes me so much that I am going to ask her to see Mighy Ducks 2 with me. MD2!
