ALBYN. Albinus (fl. sixth century A.D.) was a patrician and a councillor at Rome in Theodoric's court. Cassiodorus mentions him in Epistolae Theodoricianae Variae IV.30.

Boece says he defended Albyn when Cyprian accused him falsely, Bo I, Prosa 4.97-102. When the king tried to shift to the Senate the charges of which Albyn had been accused, Boece defended them all, Bo I, Prosa 4.212-219. [Boece: Cyprian]

Albyn is the English contraction of Latin Albinus.

Cassiodorus, Cassiodori Senatoris Variae, ed. Th. Momsen, I: 127.
