NICHANORE2 was one of the generals sent to quell the Jewish revolt in Judea, 167-165 B.C. Judas Maccabee routed the Roman army he commanded (II Maccabees 8).

The Monk mentions Nichanore's defeat in his story of Antiochus, MkT 2591-2593. [Anthiochus: Machabee: Thymothee1]
