PARTHONOPE. Parthenopaeus was the son of Atalanta of Tegea and Meleager, the hunters of the Calydonian boar. He was still very young when he joined Adrastus in the war against Thebes. He died of wounds received in the battle (Thebaid IX.852-907; Roman de Thèbes 9165-9396).
