The Yomei’mon Gate is three bays wide and two stories high.  With the Karamon, these buildings are certainly the most elaborate in the complex.

Its notable details are its radiating rafters, bracketing system, adn balustrades.  Sculpture is heavily utlized in this building to include various themes including birds and dragons.

Using its abundant sculpture, the Yomei’mon makes a particularly striking effect.  Many scholars find this bold representation a sign of weakness, and thus regard the Karamon as a finer structure as a whole.
