The subject matter of this course is such that no single text is adequate. Reading assignments are drawn from a wide variety of sources from the morphological, genetic, behavioral, systematics and paleoanthropological literature. All of the articles will be available online through Library Reserve(a link to the articles will also be available through Courseworks. If the class requests it, paper copies of the readings will be placed on reserve at the Biology Library. Unfortunately, copyright restriction prohibit the University from making copies available directly to the students.

There are several fascinating "ape-related" films available. Since the university does not permit the screening of films during class time, at appropriate junctures throughout the term these films will be shown in the hour directly following class. Given the timing, attendance is optional but is most worthwhile.
