The mission of our Community
Pediatrics Program is to improve the health status of children and
adolescents in the communities of Northern Manhattan. Through partnerships
between community and academic organizations, innovative pediatric
training experiences, population health initiatives, and enhanced
academic leadership, we believe that we can significantly and permanently
improve how pediatricians relate to, advocate for and remain committed
to the community and the children for whom they care. What is Community Pediatrics?Community pediatrics aims to enlarge the focus of care from one child to all children in the community. We challenge the traditional methods of resident education and service by creating meaningful academic and community-based partnerships and by designing and implementing population health initiatives that address major threats to children’s health. |
