  1. Vaikhari: "articulate" (external/audible)

  2. Madhyama: "middle" (mental/potential)

  3. Pasyanti: "witnessing" (latent/formless)

  4. Para Pasyanti: "supreme witnessing" (fundamental/transcendent)
