The public mailbox of his university was full with emails scolding the school and requirement to dismiss him; his home and his friends were visited by strangers coming to accuse him day and night. His university had tried to clarify but even didn’t know to whom or where to make the clarification. The author of the accusing post disappeared completely; the harassments on line were made by people under fake names. Except the almost irreversible damage on “Tong Xu”’s life, all the others were fake. "Lynch mobs" became a phrase known by more and more people.
