Hi - hope all is well. Have a request for you. I know you like to keep
us informed of your events, and we love to be kept up-to-date, but could
I ask that you not send any mail to us. Sorry, but I do not want any US
mail coming to us. So, I will happily receive any notices via email. Sorry
dear, just a sign of the times!

I got this e-mail from my neurotic friend in Toronto. I should really
not make fun of her. Afterall I was a bit freaked out about the anthrax
mail scare. One reason is I am the mail room in our office. I handle every
piece of mail that comes into the office, and I receive very strange mail
from very strange people from all over the world. So, I am naturally a
bit leary about opening mail. Also in a few weeks I will be receiving
hundreds of pieces of mail everyday. We have an annual deadline. I have
since calmed down after realizing that the anthrax scare is really very
isolated.
At first before we knew the full ramnifications - people getting sick
and dying and not really knowing how many would be affected and potent
stuff appearing at the Senate and media outlets, and cross contamination,
I was quite alarmed. It seemed that we were becoming CIPRO nation! As
Musty says, keep it in perspective...Of a
country of almost 300 million, only a small handful have been affected.
This from a guy who does not handle mail in his professional life and
gets very little of it his everyday life!
Anyway, despite all this, it appears that my crazy friend in safe little
Canada has lost her mind. What is the probability of her getting anthrax
from one Holiday card from me? I mean come on! She can take precautions
by opening the letter outside, wearing gloves and bleaching out the inside
of her mail slot! Also, she is writing this e-mail at least two months
after anthrax first became an issue....I get the feeling that she was
a bit asleep on the issue. She should have been freaking out 2 months
ago when sent her an anniversary card!
