Information Bulletin No.187, February 1951, p.20, describing the first
US Army housing built in the area, whose formal name is Carl Schurz
Siedlung. The first four photos below are of some of the HiCoG buildings by
Kent Hierstein, taken in 1972-73 (they hadn't changed since 10-11 years
prior); the next four are from Robert Paul (Bob), taken in 1960 and 61; his
family's Opel Kadett in the HiCoG parking lot, his father with car in front
of their building on Jacob-Leisler-Straße, a color view of HiCoG, an
interior view of a HiCoG apartment with Bob's dad reading Newsweek.
According to Bob HiCoG is now consular housing, fenced off and guarded.
