My grandfather Carl (or Charles) Nicolai (or Nikolai) Lund, holding my newborn mother Vivian in Minneota, Minnesota, 1922. Carl, a blacksmith and laborer, was born in Wisconsin in 1869, married Hannah Johnson in 1902, and disappeared some time between 1925 and 1930. He would be about 53 years old in this photo. He died in 1936 in Long Beach, California, under the name of John Knutson.

The image is a photo I took about 1980 of a page in one of my Mom's photo albums, and although the picture was not labeled in the album, she told me the man holding her was her father.
