Public School 165 on 109th Street between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenue, where the largely Dominican and Puerto Rican families of the neighborhood sent their children, and those who remain still do. The gentrified population sends their kids to private school or to more "middle-class" (white) public schools further downtown such as PS 87 on 78th Street.
