For this work, I will use census data from Zambia, which was collected in 1969, 1980, 1990, 2001 and 2010. While Harvard University has the 1990 census data of Zambia available, which is ward level data, it is currently in an unusable format but it is being worked on and it will probably be in usable condition by the middle of next week. The 1980 census is only available on paper format at the moment, while the 2001 and 2010 data have been requested. Aside from mapping census data, I will also map the construction and improvements of roads over time. Road construction and improvement data exists for every single road project in Zambia since the early 1990s. This data records the exact location of the project, the amount of money spent on the project and the contractors name.
