STUTTGART, den 8. Dezember 1909

Herrn
Dr. Heinrich Schenker
Wien III

Sehr geehrter Herr Doktor !

in vorzüglicher Hochachtung
Ihre sehr ergebenen

Dr. Heinrich Schenker

Dear Doctor,

We have noted with interest the contents of your esteemed letter of the 2nd inst.2 We fully appreciate the compelling reasons that caused you to make numerous insertions into the first half-volume of vol. II, and to slow down the latter’s completion. The volume is in any case, according to your kind communication, to be expected in about six weeks.

We further read with satisfaction of the {2} welcome communications regarding yourself personally, as well as the various recognitions accorded your work, which you mention in your letter. We join with you in hoping that all these circumstances, and also the lifting of anonymity, will have a propitious effect on the success of your work.

We look forward with interest to the conclusion of the latter, and remain

With kind regards,
Yours very truly,
[ sign’d: ] Heirs of the J.G. Cotta Bookdealership
