Wohlgeboren
Herrn Professor Dr. Heinrich Schenker
Wien.

Sehr geehrter Herr Professor !

Dear Professor,

In reference to my pneumatic card of today, I thank you again most cordially for your kind mediation with Röntgen.1 I have written to the latter today discussing the details, and hope that I will soon reach agreement with him over all the current questions.

Your own personal matter was already settled favorably at the last but one meeting of our board, and I am authorized to inform you that we take pleasure in accepting the edition by you of the works of { right } C. P. E. Bach.2

I believe we can best go into matters more closely once you again do me the honor of paying me a visit.

With best wishes,
Sincerely yours,
[ sign’d: ] Josef Weinberger

2 The acceptance is of a proposal, for Schenker's letter of April 13, 1901 to Röntgen remarks: "since [seeing Weinberger], I have heard nothing and do not know what the outcome is. … In truth, I do not know whether to be more fearful of the gigantic task, or to rejoice at the many delights [in the music]."
