Mr. Eugen d’Albert, the kind intermediary who brought about our association,¹ has contacted me from Berlin inquiring after my book. Would you be so good as to arrange for a copy to be sent to him as soon as possible, N.B. at his Berlin address: W. 9. Grand Hotel Bellevue?²

¹ D’Albert intervened after Cotta had initially declined S’s proposal of the book (CA 1–2, November 8, 1905; OJ 9/31, [1], November 9), and brought about their reversed decision (OJ 9/31, [2], November 14; OJ 9/31, [3], November 15.)

² The letter survives in OJ 9/6, dated December 15, 1906, the PS beginning “Wann erscheint Ihr Buch?” (When will your book be out?”); location of hotel Potsdamer Platz.
