Clinical assessments are employed for screening or diagnosis of conditions such as giftedness, disabilities or behavioral conditions in students with special needs, with the ultimate goal of providing interventions (User Path 3). Direct users of information from clinical assessments are clinically trained professionals. Clinical assessments must have the technical qualities necessary for accurate identification and placement of special needs students. High stakes are often attached to assessment use in this category, and testing practices are governed by legislation. Page 6 |
