Chapter 6 Objectives

After studying this chapter and completing the structured exercises in the module, you should be able to do the following.

  • Given an assessment need in a particular User Path, identify the construct to assess.
  • Apply the recommended guidelines when specifying the domain for a construct in
    User Paths 1-6.
  • Given a construct to assess, write and organize indicator statements in the domain .
  • Evaluate the quality of a domain specification from a measurement perspective.
  • Use taxonomies to clarify the nature and levels of learning outcomes in achievement domains (User Path 1).
  • Distinguish between the concepts of learning and achievement (User Path 1).
