Objectives
After studying this chapter

- Describe the core tasks
in the Process Model needed to design/select assessment tools to measure
affective, social-emotional, personal and behavioral constructs in User
Paths 2-6.
- Identify characteristics
of particular assessment methods best suited to measure constructs in
User Paths 2-6.
- Develop assessment
specifications to guide the design or selection of instruments in User Paths
2-6.
- Apply guidelines for
writing items for self-report questionnaires and interviews (survey instruments).
- Apply guidelines for
constructing structured, behavior observation schedules.
- Apply guidelines for
writing and interpreting anecdotal records.
- Identify the major
threats to validity, reliability and utility and methods to control them
in assessment procedures used in Paths 2-6 .
- Design and assemble
assessment tools to meet specifications and accepted guidelines in
User Paths 2-6 ( OR Select assessment tools to meet specifications).
- Conduct a content validation
of assessment tools in User Paths 2-6
