Tom Koch, Ph.D.

I completed my Ph.D. in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Columbia University under Ethan Katz-Bassett in May 2024. I still actively engage in research, advising, and teaching in the systems and networking community. I received my B.S. and M.S. degree from The Cooper Union under Fred Fontaine. My research focuses on large-scale interdomain problems on the Internet including system design, performance optimization, and reliability and how we can use both analytical and measurement methods to solve those problems. My dissertation focused on optimizing interdomain routing for large cloud/content providers. I am on the job market so if you know of a position that might interest me, please get in touch!
