Meeting Time: Monday through Thursday, 10:45 to 12:20 in 417 Schermerhorn.

Makeup Day: Class will meet on Friday, June 4 as a makeup day for the Memorial Day holiday

Writing Assignments: Students will write one short paper on a topic approved by Prof. D. Field trip summary may be used in place of short paper.

Field Trips: There will be an optional field trip. For those who can attend, field trip summaries may be used in place of the short research paper.

Thursday, June 17: Field trip to Central Park studying the Manhattan Schist and the geology of New York City. Meet at the southwest corner of Central Park at Central Park West and 59th St (Columbus Circle) at 9:45 am. Be ready to walk several miles. Wear comfortable walking shoes or boots. Bring clothes for hot weather (bring a hat) and also be prepared for a possible shower. Also, bring a bite to eat (we won't stop for lunch) and something to drink (it gets hot on the outcrop). We will finish by around 2:00 pm in the park at 72nd St.

Lab Section: The lab meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 to 3:10 in 218 Schermerhorn. The lab is optional but recommended for a more hands-on experience.
