Summer Workshop: Things to know BEFORE you register

FAQ: Answers to your questions about the Summer Workshop

• Admission to the Workshop is open to all students and advisers from senior high schools, whether public, private or parochial. No junior high or middle school students are accepted, but advisers from these schools are welcome. Students must be entering into sophomore, junior or senior year in high school.

• Participants are any persons attending any part of the Workshop. Advisers are considered participants and must pay the registration fees. Chaperones are those who will reside in the dormitory but will NOT attend classes nor the Broadway show.

• Registration for this five-day intensive program is limited to 115 participants. Due to the Workshop's limited enrollment, we encourage potential attendees to register as soon as possible since registration ends when when enrollments are completed or by May 6th, whichever occurs sooner. Full payment for all registrants is due by June 3rd.

• Schools sending 10 or more students are required to be accompanied by an adviser. If an adviser cannot attend, then the group must be accompanied by an adult chaperone who must be 18 years or older. If the chaperone is a non-adviser and will not be attending sessions, the price is $699. The adviser/chaperone must be with the group at night, and may not take any participants out of the building after 10 p.m.

• Admission to sessions is restricted to registered Workshop participants. Registration includes completion of necessary forms and payment of fees. No part of this Workshop is open to the public. Persons attempting to enter any Workshop session/event who have not registered as a participant will face ejection from the campus. Please be sure to register everyone in your group to avoid embarrassment.

Please remember that no meals will be provided during the week. Delegates will be on their own for breakfast, lunch and dinner. A list of surrounding restaurants will be provided in the registration confirmation and at arrival to the workshop. There are more than 20 restaurants, diners and delicatessens in the immediate campus area.

• On-campus accommodations for the nights of Sunday, June 23th through Thursday, June 27th are included in the registration fee.

• Accommodations for early arrivals/late departures are available at an extra fee of $155 per person per night for the nights of June 22nd and June 28th only. Since CSPA must reserve these rooms, if you plan to arrive early and/or stay late, we must receive your registration form on or before Monday, May 7th. If you have reason to believe that your form will not reach CSPA by May 6th, call the office immediately to notify us of your plans.

• Early check-in will take place from 8 a.m. - 8 p.m. on June 22nd in the lobby of Carman Hall, and late check-out is no later than 11 a.m. on June 29th, again in the lobby. If you arrive for early check-in, you will only receive your room key. You must return on Sunday, June 23rd from noon - 4 p.m. to pick up your CSPA registration in the lobby of the Carman dormitory. No on-campus rooms are available to participants before 8 a.m. on June 22nd or after 11 a.m. on June 29th.
