Background: Prior to Columbia, Ben was a dottorando di ricerca in political philosophy at Luiss Guido Carli in Rome, Italy where he completed a dissertation entitled Morgenthau mal compris: Investigating the Philosophical Roots of Hans Morgenthau’s Political Realism. He also organized and taught in a summer program in Orvieto, Italy for Tufts philosophy undergrads.

Research interests: Recent Continental Thought (particularly the Frankfurt School), Philosophy of Law, Philosophy of Science, Virtue Ethics, Epistemology, and Ancient Greek Thought.

Languages: Italian, German (reading proficiency), and French (basic).
