Software Packages and Open Source Codes

ImageParser has been developed to generate an FEM mesh from 3-D tomographic medical images. This software uses a semi-automatic method to detect ROIs from the context of image including neighboring tissues and organs, completes segmentation of different tissues, and meshes the organ into elements for computational simulation and modeling. It has also been used to reconstruct curves from existing figures.

OMITS App and Server: Open-Mode Integrated Transportation System (OMITS) integrates multiple transit modes, such as carpool, vanpool, bus, and train, to provide optimal transit service and real-time traffic information and prediction with wireless communication and database management. Using the social network based OMITS App, the vehicles serve as probes for the real-time speed of the roadway network. The operation of this system essentially relies on effective information communication, accurate prediction of traffic conditions, and comprehensive understanding of transit customer behavior and traffic flow dynamics. The OMITS App, running on an iPhone or Android smart phone, communicates among the OMITS server, riders, and drivers, detecting roadway traffic conditions and providing driving directions. Using traffic prediction model based on the historic and real-time traffic data, the system can provide the optimal routing direction and recommend ridesharing group.
Particle Dynamics Parallel Simulator (PDPS) inherits the spirit of molecular dynamics simulation algorithm. However, this open source code has been designed for particle dynamics simulation (DPD) with a tunable time and length scale. It breaks through the limit of the conventional MD simulation for simulation of large-scale material systems. It can be used in simulating the dynamics and rheological properties of simple and complex fluids. It is our intention to create a parallel open source code that is easy and convenient for researchers to modify and extend the code for their own research needs.
Multi-inhomogeneity embedded linear boundary value problem solver This solver is designed to efficiently solve multi-inhomogeneity problems in micromechanics by using boundary element method. Equivalent Inclusion Method(EIM) and Boundary Element Method (BEM) are applied here. Not as traditional boundary element method which should meshes all the surface including the surfaces of inhomogeneity, this solver is only deal the outer boundary element. And each inhomogeneity is treated by a few unknowns. So the the whole system is considerably small . And the efficiency and accuracy is ensured.
