Dear Columbia KGSA Members and Friends,

Greetings!

Hi, I’m Hosung, your 46th President of The Korean Graduate Students Association at Columbia University. It is a great pleasure and honor to serve as the President for a student organization which has been around for nearly a half a century. Columbia KGSA has the longest history of serving Korean students among the Ivy League institutions and also been one of the oldest Korean student organizations within the United States.

KGSA is the nodal student organization within Columbia University; members come from 18 different graduate/professional schools pursuing academic excellence. This year we would like to strengthen our role as a nodal Korean student organization, cooperating and collaborating with other smaller Korean groups within the Columbia community.

I am delighted to introduce this year’s Board Members, who I strongly believe will play a pivotal role in bringing all members together and providing memorable experiences on campus.

Although KGSA mainly serves for those who consider being Koreans, we are also obliged to promote a better understanding of Korea and Korean culture within the university and the community. This year’s events will reflect on this mission statement and try to engage more non-Koreans in our activities as well.

KGSA will only be able to deliver meaningful social/career/academic events only with your interest and participation. I hope to see you all in the many events to come this academic year. Thank you.

Sincerely,

John Hosung Lee

President of the Korean Graduate Students Association at Columbia University

MS in Urban Planning, Graduate School of Architecture Planning & Preservation
