Advanced Papyrological Information System (APIS): Phase III July 2000.

Abstract: A consortium grant administered by Columbia Univ. (P.I.is prof. Roger Bagnall). Participants are UCB (Bancroft), Columbia, Princeton, Yale, Duke,U. of Michigan. Bancroft will conserve, catalog, and digitize 400 of the Tebtunis papyri. Images and cataloguing to be mounted in the APIS database at Duke Univ. Follow-up grants will be submitted to continue and expand the work. Other sources of funding are also being sought. Bancroft has received the lion's share of the present funding because of the great conservation problems with the p.Tebts.
