- Missing dd510_dd fields (Duke Databank Citations) (ca.
1400 records)
For future reference, see instructions at:
http://www.columbia.edu/cu/libraries/inside/projects/apis/documentation/ddbdp.html
especially Note 8.
In order to get these in process for the next round of data
loading, I've gone ahead and created a set of DDBDP-formatted
citations based on the presence of P.Tebt. (etc.) in the incoming
dd510 fields. In the spreadsheet referenced below, there are
up to 3 dd510_dd fields per record. Since these are mechanically
generated, they include bogus links to literary papyri and
documentary papyri volumes not yet available in the DDBDP.
http://www.columbia.edu/cu/libraries/inside/projects/apis/berkeley/input/ddbdp_generation.xls
My suggestion is that someone in your shop find a way to review
the DDBDP-type citations in the spreadsheet, cull out any
incorrect ones, and then amalgamate these fields into your
central database. Or you may be able to find an alternate
way to generate needed DDBDP citations, as I believe John
Weise did at Michigan.
When inputting new records into your system, however, or adding
publication information to existing records, you'll probably
want either to define new fields for the parallel manual input
of these structured citations, or else generate them semi-automatically
in the input system when keying traditional citations, or
else generate them automatically in some fashion each time
you create extract files to send to the central APIS database.
(This last alternative will probably be more error-prone.)

- Missing presentation (structural) metadata data (ca. 600
records)
These records have the "Part" structure, but no
corresponding "Presentation" structures (i.e., links
to images, etc.). Are there images for these records?
If not, no "Part" fields should be included.
