I've published my friends‘plays. I get my theatrical kicks that way, but I do not want to invest in plays.

Q:

I thought that that was the case, but I wasn't really sure.

Cerf:

You may have noticed that I get a little bit teary when I talk about Moss because...

Q:

Oh, no. It's terrific because you've got the affection and understand the emotion that was involved.

Cerf:

We spent every holiday together. Every Fourth of July, Labor Day, winter vacations together...and just being with Moss on a vacation...well, we should have treated because he would always make it wonderful.

Q:

I think that there's nothing like a good relationship between four people. It's so hard to find a very, very compatible...

Cerf:

Well, it became six after a while because another one of Phyllis‘great friends is Mrs. Arthur Hornblow, Bubbles, who is quite a writer herself. Lenore Hornblow--she's written a couple of good novels which we have published and knows more about books than any girl I have ever met. She has read everything and knows and appreciates. Irwin Shaw would never
