Q:

Did I read correctly that the results have been quite remarkable. The drop out rate that might have been expected did not occur at all--

Clark:

With that group.

Q:

In fact, I'm not sure there were any drop outs. I think there some that moved away.

Clark:

Some moved away, yes. I think those that moved away, if they continue they are still eligible for this commitment of his.

Q:

Yes. Was his name [ ] Lang?

Clark:

Lang. That was a really innovative--very humane, simple sort of approach.

Q:

Now, to your knowledge, were those kids fairly representative in capability of that type of school?

Clark:

I would presume so, as far as I know.

Q:

So, in other words, when he held out this hope he gave them the motivation. He removed any tendencies toward despair and frustration.
