Dr. Clark:

Well as I look back on our first session, it reminded me very much of analysis, and I didn't expect it to be that...

... I like to talk. I guess you just start talking, and saying things that you have probably forgotten, or thought you'd forgotten. All right, are you ready to start?

Q:

All right. I think you mentioned, at the conclusion of our first session, Dr. Clark, that you thought you might like to go into your period at Howard University.

Dr. Clark:

Oh, yes.

Q:

Discuss not only what you did there, but how this also shaped the direction that you would go in the future.

Dr. Clark:

Yes. Howard University, again, as far as I see, looking back on it, was one of those, to me, very fortunate accidents. I decided to go to Howard University on a very curious basis. During the summer, I used to go to a recreational program, held in one of the schools. I don't remember what school it was, but they had these
