Okay. One other thing, in her quoting her interview with Passannante, she quotes him as saying: “Koch went around speaking for DeSapio once. Did he tell you that?”
Oh, sure. And she says I told her that, doesn't she? I did. I spoke for him at the ADA when they were going to endorse candidates. I think it was probably 1957 when I had gone to the DeSapio club after I'd left the VID a year or so later. Maybe it was in '57; it could have been in '58 -- I can't remember. I remember speaking for him. Sure I did.
You mentioned in a previous interview that you had been over at the Tamawa club. How long were you actually in or attending meetings?
Six months. But, as I told you, they just ignored me. God knows, they didn't trust me, and so I left. I can't give you the exact period I was there. See, for a long time I didn't do anything. I would believe that I went to the Tamawa club some time in '57, and I stayed there for about six months. That's what I believe. And maybe in '57, when he was running for district leader, that's when I spoke for him. That may be it. That would be my recollection. We have to stop now.
This concludes the interview with Congressman Koch, December 20, 1975.
