Q:

What kindof ideas?

Lasker:

Well, I had ideas about advertising and how to raise money and how to make the most of small amounts of money. We ran ads in major cities, which were very good ones. (Jane, put in the Stevenson ads that we ran in '60.)

His secret thought must have been that there would be a deadlock and if there were a deadlock, he would be the one who would get in.

Q:

There was a great possibility of a deadlock.

Lasker:

Certainly. It seemed as a possibility, at any rate. But the diligence of the Kennedy people was such that it didn't finally develop.

I'll tell you about the convention next time.
