a marvelous red embroidered dreas on, in order to compete with the Queen.
Now tell me about your attire?
Oh well, Mrs. Blair and I had pink ogganza dresses on.
What about jewelry?
She had no jewelry and I had an Imitation diamond and sapphire necklace which was very pretty but not real. We'd be scared to death to be in the Ritz with it, if it were real.
Then we went to London where we had a marvelous social time, lovely friends taking us to the theatre. We got to the theatre with Lady Baillie and Geoffssy Lloyd. The Dutchess of Roburghe gave a luncheon for us. We went to the theatre with the went to see the musical “Gone With the Wind,” and in the spring of middle winter I made visits to Lady in Kassau, and I spent some time in Palm Springs with Mr. and Mrs. Hoffman in a house we'd rented. He was then very well.
That was before his stroke?
Yes, before his illness. I spent a couple of days in Palm Beach with Mr. and Mrs. Wrightsman.
Well, that's sort of a very quick roundup of what I've been doing.
You didn't go down to the Pedernales this year?
No, because I went to France, when I was invited, I'm going in the fall.
