Yes, I'm on the state Medical Research Council, but I'm going to get off that because they always have meetings in Albany, and I can't go to Albany and Washington. And they only have $ 2 1/2 million, so I really don't have to worry about it.

Q:

You go where the larger effort is.

Lasker:

I got where the larger money is even though small money sometimes gets gets more done.

Q:

I hope that you'll talk about that whole area that you told me about last year which is so exciting -- the treatment through chemotherapy of breast cancer and. . .

Lasker:

That seems to be going well. We also have charts, which Jane will send you. There's a study on late disseminated breast cancer which shows an increase in survival if people are given a combination of three drugs -- 5-F-V, adriamyacin and cytoxin plus BCG. There's quite a dramatic increase in
