this. But there's no definitive information that it has been done yet. And when there is, I certainly will tell you. I've seen him in the last month, and he is indeed making a big effort about it.

Q:

another thing that you haven't said anything about is the major cancer center at New York University.

Lasker:

Oh, yes. I got the money from the Cancer Institute - $3,500,000 -- for their building program with the thought that this would bring together a group of efforts in New York University.

Q:

This was several years ago.

Lasker:

This was in the last year. But they were unable to get an effective managar for a cancer center. They have no really effective researcher or administrator for the real center. They have a great deal of individual research in different departments but no one central management for a research center. They were in great difficulties because they teach in Bellevue Hospital, and because of the exigencies of New York city finances, they were having all sorts of trouble with the city hospitals, and in the last four or, five months I haven't
