through AID. It gives out over $100 million for aid in family planning to different countries. I have some hope that they'll get a little bit more from that source, and I have some hope that they'll get a little bit more from the United Nations fund for population control. It really takes somebody who represents the government and somebody who represents the executive to come and make a plea for exactly how much money and say exactly what they're going to do with it. It can't really be done by me.

Q:

I should think the Blairs would be useful there.

Lasker:

They're not interested in Mexico.

Q:

But they do have the diplomatic background.

Lasker:

Yes, But the Gallardos have the diplomatic background, and they know everybody. I just have to get the Americans together.

Q:

You told me last year that Dr. DeBakey and some of his cohorts were making an effort to find an enzyme to reverse the development of artereosclerosis.

Lasker:

Yes, Dr. in his hospital is still working on
