Lasker:

She left a found of over $2 million to maintain it.

Q:

The article I read said she had spent over $2 million to restore it.

Lasker:

I'm sure it was at least that much, and it is very wonderful. I'll show you the booklet. I brought it downstairs. I must have left it outdoors.

Q:

Well, do you want to tell new now about your social activities?

Lasker:

Well, the dinner at the White House that was for the President of France “as a very attractively done affair. I was really invited because of some friends, the George Feldmans, who were friends of the Fords, I had never met President Ford before, but he evidently knew about me through John Fogarty somehow. How he could remembers that, I don't know. he asked if he might call me Mary right away. Then he introduced me to the President of France, and said, “Oh, yes, I know about her. she is interested in our palaces in France,” He associated me with Versailles. He was extremely well briefed.

You had not met him before?
