place that I cannot now imagine.
How did you happen to go?
I was supposed to be a hostess at this thing. You know, there are these big fund-raising things where you pay $100 or something to come in, and there have to be six or eight people who are the so-called hosts or hostesses, and I was one of them.
Then the other excitement in New York was Operation Saily, which I think you probably saw.
On television.
On television -- I, too. But on July 3rd my sister had a picnic in her apartment on the East River, and we saw the smaller boats come down the East River, which was an enchanting sight.
That must or have been an ideal spot.
Enchanting. The first large boat that came down had bright blue sails, and it was really one of the prettiest things I ever saw.
