As a public service. Now, on the Lasker Awards this year --
Well, we're going on the subject of Lasker Awards. Incidentally, I thought that was a most impressive program last year.
Wasn't it good?
You must have gotten lots of plaudits on that.
Well, I thought it was good. The winners were Dr. Ahlquist [Dr. Raymond P. Ahlquist] and Dr. Black [Dr. J. W. Black] for the development of the antirhythmic and antihypertensive drug called Inderal.
This was last year?
Last year. And to Rosalyn Yalow [Rosalyn S. Yalow], who has advanced the status of -- the use of Radioimmunoassay, which is an assay to measure the exact amounts of drugs or hormones in any tissue. It's an assay that will measure almost anything, if it's properly set up to measure.
And then we gave the World Health Organization an award for the eradication -- the essential eradication of
That was a very touching one. That speech was most impressive.
Henderson [Dr. D. A. Henderson] was wonderful, wasn't he?
Yes, he was indeed.
