Lasker:

Of course.

Q:

But they don't understand it?

Lasker:

The people at NIH are not businessmen. They're research administrators who are not interested in getting anything accomplished. They don't have any consuming drive to solve anything, you know?

Q:

I'm not a businesman either, but I can understand --

Lasker:

-- you have a consuming drive to get it done.

Q:

I can understand that.

Lasker:

Yes

Q:

Well, so, you were talking about Pepper's committee on the cancer.

Lasker:

His committee is the Committee on Aging.
