Lasker:

You missed that? I'm surprised that you missed that article. Associated Press articles really made me sound sort of hysterical. I'm sorry, She quoted me in a -- in a way that made me really sound rather hysterical, I think. I'm sorry it was -- sorry it sounded that way.

Q:

Well, there was an article in the press some months ago, I think it was during the winter, when you attended a very special party -- at the New York Botanical Garden.

Lasker:

It was in May -- it was beautiful.

Q:

A very special party, yes, -- tell me about it.

Lasker:

Well, it was really superbly done. The greenhouse had been restored by Mrs. Enid Haupt, who gave five million dollars to it. The party was beautifully arranged. It was a very hot night in May. The music was very good. Everybody had a marvelous time and looked very pretty, and it was a very, very gala and lively occasion. She is undoubtedly the greatest patronness of flower growing in the city, and also the best grower herself in the East for her own house and her own apartment.

Q:

She does that?

Lasker:

In New York. Yes. It's a marvelous greenhouse, small greenhouse but superb.

Q:

She's helped you out in Washington too.
