Q:

Some show a real interest in that. What about Washington? Any effort there?

Lasker:

No, I haven't done a thing in Washington, except try to get money for interferon. That's been really a big effort. It's been a real effort.

Q:

Well, and it should have a major result.

Lasker:

Well, we don't know. You know, anything that should be doesn't necessarily happen. Like the high blood pressure program in New York State. So we'll just have to pray that it will.

Q:

I'll help you there. What about Austin, Texas? Have you done anything there, in parks?

Lasker:

I did, yes. We planted 300 small flowering peach trees in Austin.

Q:

In Austin?

Lasker:

Yes, along the park, the Town Lake Park, on the outer drive, which we hope in the course of time will look very pretty with the flowering peaches. They need about five times as many.

Q:

Is there any additional effort in San Antonio, along the river? The park area?

Lasker:

You mean San Antonio, not Austin?

Q:

Yes.
