and arteriosclerosis is in arteries of the brain in such quantity that the blood just can't get through. But many people think that arteriosclerosis is caused in part by high blood pressure. Now whether it's a cause or an effect I don't know.

Q:

The Ad Council people must be highly pleased with what's happened.

Lasker:

Q:

They can understand.

Lasker:

Yes. I gave a luncheon in their honor and in behalf of their work for the National High Blood Pressure Education Campaign.

Q:

What was the nature of the luncheon? What was the nature of the program?

Lasker:

The National Heart Institute gave them awards. It wasn't a large public luncheon, but sometimes private lunches with fulsome praise are more fun.
