Lasker:

Yes, it's all fund raising. And I went to the opening of the Kennedy Headquarters. I gave a big cocktail party for Senator Bayh to raise money for him.

Q:

What are his chances?

Lasker:

I hope he'll win. About Bayh I am not sure, nobody is sure about Bayh.

I gave a reception with Mrs. Brooke Astor and Arthur Ross in honor of Jacob Javits, and I think he'll win. I'm giving fund raising parties for Rep. Morris Udall and John Brademas.

Q:

What is the state of Javits' health? I mean there are rumors that he. ..

Lasker:

He has some neurological disease, and I don't know for sure what it is. I keep asking people and they don't seem to know for sure what it is, and I don't. . .

Q:

They don't talk about it.

Lasker:

And I don't want to. . . I am sure he's been into it fairly carefully, and I don't want to get into it unless it's something I can help him with, which I take it is not, because I am sure he's consulted with sensible people.

They say it is something that isn't disabling, and that it's very slow acting. It distresses me that anything should be the matter with him, because he's
