Lasker:

Do you really eat up there?

Q:

Yes, occasionally, but only on big occasions do we go there.

Lasker:

It's marvelous! It was absolutely marvelous! They came to get me, and I thought we'd probably go to someplace in this area, and they said, “We're going to [what is it?] 118th Street.”

Q:

119th.

Lasker:

I said, “Why in heaven's name are we going there?” “Well, there's a great restaurant there.” I said, “I don't believe you! What are we doing?” Well, we got there, and really there's a marvelous view.

Q:

Great view, isn't it?

Lasker:

They had ordered a special meal. It was unbelievable, unbelievable. (pause in recording)

I'm no longer on the Cancer Institute board, but I'm a member of the advisory committee to the director of the National Institutes of Health.

Q:

Now, what does that entail?
