was in California. One was an award of University called the Hubert Humphrey Award for efforts that I had made in cancer to get support for cancer research. Another was the Stony Brook Foundation Award, which was for efforts for support of medical research generally, and the American ophthalmology Award. The American Academy of ophthalmology was for support of eye and blindness research.

Q:

Did you attend any of those?

Lasker:

The last one I attended, and there were 10,000 people there.

Q:

Where was this -- in New York?

Lasker:

In Chicago. Isn't that amazing? I didn't know there were that many ophthalmology in the world.

Q:

Well, you must have had to make some remarks.

Lasker:

Very few.

Q:

I know how shy you are.

Lasker:

Terrible. Now what? Social events. Are you interested in social events?
