committee you're forming. How frequently will you gather them together?

Lasker:

The people that are on it?

Q:

Yes.

Lasker:

Oh, I'm not going to worry about that. What I need is some staff, and what I need is my own money and do something myself. Now, I know what they can do if I can get them to do it and pay the expenses if they go to Washington. I know what to do. I don't need to hear that they don't need more money for this or that.

Q:

So you're going to play it by ear.

Lasker:

Yes. Dr. DeBakey knows that he gets a large amount of money for overhead for his medical school in Houston, and he will be very cooperative.

Q:

Are you going to put Mrs. Lederer on that committee, too?

Lasker:

Oh, yes, and she'll be very helpful.

Q:

Oh, yes, of course. And Mrs. Hoffman probably.

Lasker:

Yes. I can't think of the name of Dr. DeBakey's school.
