Oh, yes, they amazingly loaned all the pictures in the Maurits kaus from The Hague to the National Gallery in Washington, and for the opening the queen came. She gave the dinner at the National Gallery. I would have thought the National Gallery would have given a dinner in her honor. She gave the dinner. It was just a reception line, and one got a chance to shake hands with her and her sister and her husband. There was no chance of any conversation with her at all. And of course the pictures were superb. The best pictures of the 17th century Dutch.
Then I went to another party for her in California, where there was just a dinner in her honor.
A private dinner.
Yes, in a hotel. She has a very pleasant manner, very good-looking.
I'm on the board of the Lyndon Johnson Foundation, which supports the Lyndon Johnson Library.
You were on that before, weren't you? Or is this a new assignment?
No, I've been on it. And it also supports the existence of the University of Texas school of government. I went to stay with Mrs. Johnson.
Out on the ranch?
